A groom plan for each event

Mehndi

Mehndi is the most relaxed function, with brighter clothes and plenty of dancing. Get your haircut three to five days before so the edges have softened by the evening, and keep the beard neat rather than freshly razored. A facial a week or so before helps skin look even under warm lighting. If your mehndi is the night before the barat, do not stack a new treatment on that day.

Barat

Barat is the main day: the sherwani, the most photos and the longest wait under hot lights. This is where a one-day groom package earns its price. Book the morning slot so the barber has time for the beard line-up, the facial has settled and makeup is light and set before you dress. Ask the salon to finish with an oil-control base so you are not shiny by the time the rukhsati photos are taken.

Walima
