Getting started

What is Bugo?

Bugo helps you discover local deals from restaurants, salons, gyms, and other businesses near you and redeem them in-store. Most deals are "Pay at store": you claim a free voucher and pay the discounted price on your visit. Some are "Buy Now" deals, which you pay for online and then simply redeem in store with nothing left to pay.

Do I need an account to browse deals?

No. You can browse, search, and view deal details as a guest. You only need to sign in when you want to claim a deal, save favourites, or leave a review.

Is Bugo free to use?

Yes, the app is free to download and use, and Bugo adds no booking or service fee. On a "Pay at store" deal, claiming the voucher costs nothing and you pay the discounted price directly at the store. On a "Buy Now" deal you pay the discounted deal price online. It is still the price shown, with nothing extra added by Bugo.

Where is Bugo available?

Bugo is currently available in Pakistan, with deals in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. We plan to add more cities over time.

How does a Bugo deal work, start to finish?

It depends on the deal type, which the deal page always states. On a "Pay at store" deal: tap Claim, choose the branch you plan to visit, and a free voucher is saved to My Deals; at that branch open the voucher, tap Redeem, scan the QR code at the counter and pay the discounted price to the store. On a "Buy Now" deal: tap Buy Now, pay online, and the voucher lands in My Deals marked as purchased; you redeem it with the same QR scan and there is nothing to pay at the counter.

Signing in & your account

How do I sign in?

You can sign in with your Google account, with Apple (on iPhone), with your email and password, or with your phone number via a one-time SMS code (OTP). Just choose a method on the sign-in screen and follow the prompts.

Is there an email and password login?

Yes. You can create an account with your email and a password, or use Google, Apple, or phone sign-in if you prefer. If you forget your password, use the "Forgot password" option on the sign-in screen to reset it.

I didn't receive my SMS verification code. What should I do?

Check that your number was entered correctly and that you have signal. Tap Resend to go back and request a fresh code. Codes can take a moment to arrive; if it still doesn't come through, try again shortly or use Google sign-in instead.

Why do I need to add a phone number to claim a deal?

A verified phone number is required so your voucher can be tied to your account securely. If you signed in with Google, Apple, or email and haven't added a phone yet, the app will ask you to verify one when you claim.

How do I edit my name or phone number?

Go to the Profile tab and tap the edit icon on your profile card to update your display name and phone number. Your email is tied to your sign-in and can't be changed.

Finding deals

How do I find deals near me?

The Home tab shows deals for your selected city, organised into sections like Featured, Ending soon, Near you, and Fresh this week. You can also open the map view to see deals and branches around you.

Can I search for a specific deal or business?

Yes. Use the Search tab to look up deals, businesses, and categories by name. As you type, the app suggests matching results.

What is the Store tab?

The Store tab is a directory of all businesses on Bugo, grouped by category. Browse or search for a business to see its profile and any deals it's currently running.

How do I browse by category?

Open a category from Home or Search to see all deals within it, such as food, beauty, or fitness. You can tap any deal to view its full details.

What information does a deal page show?

Each deal shows photos, the discounted price and original price, how much you save, the discount percentage, the expiry date, participating branches, terms and conditions, and customer reviews.

What does "Ending soon" mean on a deal?

It means the deal is within 3 days of its expiry date. It's a reminder to claim and redeem before the offer ends.

Can I share a deal with friends?

Yes. Every deal page has a share button. Send the link through any app and it opens straight to that deal.

Why are some deals far from me or in another city?

Deals are shown for the city selected in your profile. If results look far away, check your selected city in Profile and switch it to the one you're in. You can also use the map view to focus on nearby branches.

Claiming deals

How do I claim a deal?

Open the deal and tap Claim, then pick the branch you plan to visit. The deal is saved as a free voucher under My Deals, ready to redeem at that branch. If the button says Buy Now instead of Claim, the deal is paid online first. See "How do I buy a Buy Now deal?" below.

Does claiming a deal cost anything?

No. Claiming a "Pay at store" deal is free: you only pay the discounted price at the store when you redeem. "Buy Now" deals work differently: they are paid online before the voucher is issued, and their button says Buy Now rather than Claim.

Do I need to sign in to claim a deal?

Yes. If you're browsing as a guest, tapping Claim will prompt you to sign in, and you'll return to finish claiming right after.

What does "Sold out" mean on a deal?

Some deals have a limited number of vouchers, and "Sold out" means they've all been claimed. Other deals are unlimited and stay available until they expire. If a deal is sold out, keep an eye out for it returning or check similar deals.

How do I buy a "Buy Now" deal?

Open the deal and tap Buy Now. Pick the branch you plan to visit, choose a payment method, and complete the payment on the provider's secure page. Your card details never touch Bugo. Once the payment is confirmed the voucher appears in My Deals marked "Purchased", and there is nothing to pay when you redeem it in store.

How do I tell whether a deal is paid online or at the store?

The deal page says so on the button and just underneath it: "Buy Now · Rs …" with "Pay online, nothing to pay at store" for online deals, and "Claim Deal" with "Pay at store on your visit" for the rest. Deals paid online also carry a "Buy Now" badge in the listings, and in My Deals a purchased voucher shows a green "Purchased" chip while a claimed one shows "Pay at store".

What happens if I pay online but never redeem the voucher?

A purchased voucher is valid until the deal's end date, which is shown before you pay and again in My Deals. If it expires unredeemed it can no longer be used and the amount is not refunded, so redeem it before that date. We email you a reminder while it is still valid.

Can I get a refund on a deal I paid for online?

Purchased vouchers are not refundable once the deal has expired. If something goes wrong on our side, such as a payment we could not turn into a voucher or a duplicate charge, we reverse it automatically and email you. For anything else, contact support and we will look into it with the business.

Can I claim the same deal more than once?

You can hold one active voucher per deal at a time. Once you've claimed it, the button changes to Redeem. After that voucher is redeemed or expires, you can claim the deal again if it's still running.

Redeeming in-store

How do I redeem a claimed deal?

Visit the branch you chose when claiming, open the voucher from My Deals, and tap Redeem. Point your camera at the branch's QR code at the counter, and you'll get a confirmation once it's verified.

Why does the app need my location to redeem?

Redemption confirms you're actually at the branch, so the app checks your location against the branch's location. You need to be at the store for the QR scan to go through.

It says I'm too far from the branch. What do I do?

Your location is outside the allowed range of the branch (about 500 metres). Make sure location access is enabled for Bugo, move closer to or inside the store, and try again. Also double-check you're at the branch you selected when claiming.

The QR code won't scan or says it's invalid.

Make sure you're scanning the official QR code displayed at the branch counter, with good lighting and the code fully inside the frame. If it says the code isn't valid, check that you're at the branch you picked when claiming. A voucher can't be redeemed with another branch's QR code. If you're at the right branch, ask staff to confirm the QR is current, then rescan.

The camera won't open on the redeem screen.

Redeeming requires camera access to scan the QR code. If you previously denied it, open the redeem screen and tap Allow, or enable Camera for Bugo in your phone's Settings, then return to the app.

What happens after I redeem successfully?

You'll see a confirmation screen with a confirmation code to show at the counter, and the deal moves to the Redeemed tab in My Deals. On a "Pay at store" deal you then pay the discounted price to the store. On a deal you bought online the screen says the payment has already been made and the code starts with PPD-, so counter staff can see there is nothing to collect.

It says the deal is already redeemed.

That deal has already been used and can't be redeemed again. You can still see the voucher under the Redeemed tab in My Deals.

My Deals & vouchers

Where do my claimed deals go?

Every deal you claim is saved in the My Deals tab. It's organised into Active (ready to redeem), Redeemed (already used), and Expired.

My voucher expired before I could use it. Can I get it back?

Expired vouchers move to the Expired tab and can't be redeemed. If it was a free "Pay at store" claim and the deal is still running you can claim a fresh voucher, though it may take a short while after expiry before the deal lets you claim again. A voucher you paid for online can't be restored or refunded after the deal's end date, which is why that date is shown before you pay and again in My Deals.

Where can I see the payments I made online?

Open My Deals and tap Purchases. Every online payment is listed there with its amount, date, order reference and status, including payments that are still confirming or that did not complete.

How do I know when a voucher expires?

Each active voucher shows its expiry date. Check the My Deals Active tab to see what's expiring soon so you don't miss it.

Can I redeem a voucher at any branch of the business?

No. A voucher works at the branch you picked when you claimed it. Open the voucher to see which branch that is. If you'd rather go elsewhere, wait for the voucher to expire (or use it), then claim the deal again and pick a different branch.

Why is my My Deals tab empty?

If you haven't claimed anything yet, or you're not signed in, there's nothing to show. Sign in and claim a deal, then it will appear under Active.

07 · 8 questions

Payments & pricing

Do I pay in the app?

It depends on the deal. Most deals are "Pay at store": Bugo takes no payment and you pay the discounted price directly to the business when you redeem in store. "Buy Now" deals are paid online before the voucher is issued. The deal page and its button always say which kind you are looking at.

How do online payments work, and are they secure?

Paying online sends you to the payment provider's own secure, PCI-compliant page to enter your details. Card and wallet information never touches Bugo's servers. When the provider confirms the payment we issue your voucher and email you a receipt with the order reference.

Which online payment methods can I use?

The methods shown at checkout are the ones enabled for your deal, typically a mobile wallet or a card. Whatever is available appears as an option before you pay.

What currency are prices shown in?

All prices are shown in Pakistani Rupees (Rs / PKR).

How much will I actually pay?

You pay the deal price shown on the voucher, which is the discounted amount. The deal page also shows the original price and how much you save.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Bugo adds no booking or service fee to either kind of deal. The only amount you pay is the discounted deal price: at the store for "Pay at store" deals, or online for "Buy Now" deals.

What payment methods can I use at the store?

Payment at the store is handled directly by the business, so accepted methods depend on that branch. Check with the branch if you're unsure whether they take cash or card. If you paid for the deal online there is nothing to pay at the counter at all.

Are online purchases refundable?

A purchased voucher is valid until the deal's end date and is not refundable after it expires, and that is stated before you pay. Payments that fail or are cancelled are never charged, and anything that goes wrong on our side is reversed automatically with an email to you.

Tap the heart icon on a deal to add it to your favourites. You can find all your saved deals via the heart icon at the top of Home or from your Profile.

Do I need to be signed in to use favourites?

Yes. Favourites are tied to your account, so sign in to save deals and see them across sessions.

How do I leave a review?

Open a deal and go to its reviews section to rate it from 1 to 5 stars and write a short comment about your experience. You'll need to be signed in to post.

Can I edit or delete a review I posted?

That deal simply may not have any reviews yet. If you've tried it, you can be the first to leave one.

Notifications, permissions & support

Which permissions does Bugo need?

Bugo uses your location to show nearby deals and to confirm you're at the branch when redeeming, the camera to scan the branch QR code, and notification permission to send you updates. You can manage all of these anytime in your phone's Settings.

Can I turn notifications on or off?

You can control Bugo's notifications from your phone's Settings. An in-app notification preference is coming soon.

How do I contact support?

How do I delete my account and data?

Deleting permanently removes your profile, claimed deals, and redemption history. This can't be undone. You can also request deletion from the web at bugo.pk/delete-account.

How do I sign out?

Open the Profile tab and tap Log out at the bottom. You can sign back in anytime, and your claimed deals will still be there.

I run a business. Can I list my deals on Bugo?

Yes. Visit bugo.pk/grow-your-business to learn how it works and get started, or contact us at vendor@bugo.pk.
